All About John

Who is this man?  Many have asked and I have had to pinch myself many days to make sure this is real.  John and I met through a mutual friend that we have both known for years, Ronda.  She and John’s older sister have been friends since childhood, so needless to say Ronda has lots of scoop on John and I’m sure I’ll get more as time goes on.  Ronda and I on the other hand have been friends for about 10 years and met in my hometown, Ocala.  About 2 years ago unbeknownst to us we discovered we live about 20 minutes from one another here in Texas. That was God’s timing for sure as Ronda and I reconnected and walked through the past year.  It was comforting to have a friend who knew me from another place and time to walk through a difficult season in a new place.

In February, Ronda had spent some time with John catching up on life.  At which time they had a mutual friend that had just been diagnosed with breast cancer.  Ronda knowing my story, shared my blog to pass along for encouragement.  At the same time, I believe John began reading my story as well.  The next week, Ronda had joined me and some other friends for my birthday.  All she could tell me about was this friend John that she wanted to introduce me to.  And the rest is HIStory.

John and I began communicating  for about a month before we met.  Once we met, we knew it was real and meant to be.  We both laugh at how crazy our journey has been and amazed that God has allowed us to be together and be characters in His story.  We could go on and on to tell stories of what God has brought us through individually for such a time as this to be together.  We are both sure that God is orchestrating something so much bigger than John or I could ever have imagined.  We have agreed to sit back and just enjoy the ride as we continue to watch God write our love story.

There’s so much more I could tell you about John but I’m saving it for the book…..

“For our present troubles are quite small and won’t last very long.  Yet they produce for us an immeasurably great glory that will last forever!  So we don’t look at the troubles we can see right now; rather, we look forward to what we have not yet seen.  For the troubles we see will soon be over, but the joys to come will last forever.”  –2 Corinthians 4:17-18

All of John’s friends have an advantage over your friends Jen.. we get to read this awesome blog and feel like we get to know you and what an amazing woman of God you are and what a blessing you are to ‘our’ John.
But your friends are probably wondering about him 🙂 Let me reassure them–Our family is so blessed to call John friend. He is THE MOST WELL LOVED person in Ada. I serve with John in the church we attend and he is the hardest working volunteer I have ever known! He goes above and beyond for everyone he meets and is gifted by God in so many ways. Thank you Jen, for loving our friend and putting a sparkle in his eye and a smile on his face.
We are all lifting you up in prayer. What a testimony you two are writing. I am privileged to watch it all unfold.
Our family loves John…so now we love you!

Can’t stop crying or dancing at your post…sweet, sweet, sweet and full of joy at His timing for each of you. Agreeing from the mountaintop and in the valley…God is writing HIStory through the two of you. Giving Him glory for all. Prayers continuing…calling out for Jehovah Ropha to BE ALL OVER YOU! Thanks for the powerful scripture post. And ditto to the tenth degree the sentiment in the Anderson post…you see, as I tried to prepare you…our brother has many sisters and brothers who love and care for him 🙂 (just as you do) I’m thinking we need to be planning a picnic of quantum measure at the Red River soon that our friends can “do lunch” with your friends (not even kidding)! May His face shine brightly upon you today…
