From The Kimbrells

You never know what we’re up to…..we got married!!!

Yeah, yeah it was supposed to be September 4th.  I know it’s been a while since my last post so let me catch everyone up…. Within days (literally 2) of sending our invitations out I was accepted into the medical trial.  We had always said that my medical treatment was the priority, we discussed options with the doctor as the treatment would fall on the weekend of the wedding.  Not wanting to mess with my schedule and not knowing how I would respond to the chemo and the clinical trial drug we decided have a small ceremony with family.  It just so happened that some friends were throwing a shower for us in Dallas so John and decided it would be fun to just get married right before and surprise everyone with the announcement….so we did!  It was so much fun and meant the world to us to have a small ceremony with our families.  God has truly blessed us beyond belief.  We continue to walk in His light and trust Him for complete healing.

Since we got married on August 7th a few other things have changed.  I have moved to Ada, Oklahoma.  Yes, it is on the map.  🙂  I love giving John a hard time that he has moved me to “small town USA”.  Although I give him a hard time, I’m loving it and we have so many friends that we couldn’t ask for more.

You may be asking why I moved from Dallas….well, that is decision that we didn’t take lightly.  In July my doctors determined that I would be out of work for a while as my cancer spread to my lungs.  Most recent I started having pain in my chest that they have discovered is cancer on my sternum.  They have stopped the clinical trial and will change my chemo treatment next.  We have an appointment this Wednesday to start the new cocktail.  As we’ve walked through all of this over the summer we know without a doubt that God has guided our steps and led us to where we are today.  John and I are enjoying our home and one day we’ll be out of boxes.  I will continue to go to Dallas for my treatments.  And we continue to pray for a miracle.

“For the Lord your God is living among you.  He is a mighty savior.  He will take delight in you with gladness.  With His love, he will calm all your fears.  He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.”  — Zephaniah 3:17
