What a Week

It’s been a week of highs and lows.  And we’re not even done yet.  Days like this, I don’t know if I can handle anymore.  Don’t panic, I’m o.k.

I have been in a place of stirring this week, I’ve been on the edge of my seat as I feel something is coming my way.  Not sure who, what or why but I know that God is up to something.  So I sit ready for whatever He is bringing my way.  These are the moments that excite me, I can’t wait.

At the same time, I’m really ticked.  Over the past week I have heard of 5 people touched with cancer or recurrence.  I’m so ticked with this disease.  I’m tired of hearing of it touching someone’s life.  I know that God is not surprised and He will use this for His glory if we give it to him.  I find my peace in Him.

I’m not surprised when He then gives me a word such as the following when I’m having a week like this.  It is my hope that others will find hope in Him through my journey.

When something in your life or thoughts makes you anxious, come to Me and talk about it.  Bring Me your prayer and petition with thanksgiving, saying: “Thank You, Jesus, for this opportunity to trust You more.”  Though the lessons of trust that I send to you come wrapped in difficulties, the benefits far outweigh the cost.

Well-developed trust will bring you many blessings, not the least of which is My Peace.  I have promised to keep you in perfect Peace to the extent that you trust in Me.  The world has it backwards, teaching that peace is the result of having enough money, possessions, insurance, and security systems.  My Peace, however, is such an all-encompassing gift that it is independent of all circumstances.  Though you lose everything else, if you gain My Peace you are rich indeed.

Jesus Calling, Sarah Young

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.  And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”  –Philippians 4:6-7

“You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you.  Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord, is the Rock eternal.”  —  Isaiah 26:3-4

  1. I continue to stand amazed at what the Lord is doing! I stand in frustration and in anticipation with you! I’m daily amazed at how this devotional speaks to each of us daily, right where we are at! I think we out to call this “National Day To Be Thankful For Nancy Williams” 🙂 (And Sarah Young of course)

  2. Thanks for sharing your heart–
The quote about peace spoke to me.
